Earthlights.org: International Earthlight Alliance

NEW MATERIAL IS NOW AVAILABLE
WEB SITE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

<| New stuff |>
updated 4 Dec 2007

Greetings and welcome!

I see you have stumbled onto the International Earthlight Alliance web site. We are a new organization of technical professionals (scientists and engineers) who are dedicated to the scientific exploration of the earthlight phenomenon (glowing lights that spontaneously arise over the ground). We investigate places world-wide where earthlights have been reported using high-tech instrumentation and technology. We hope to answer the question “Do earthlights exist, and if so, what are they?” On this site you can see the many exciting topics we plan to explore. Please join us virtually in this exploration and watch as we unveil the secrets of earthlights.

The site is still under construction right now. (Active menu items are in blue, the ones that are planned but not yet active are in gray). Pictures and some data from earthlights all over the globe can now be viewed. You can see data from the Norwegian earthlight “science camp,” (in Norwegian) but this is just the beginning. There is lots more to come!! We will be continually adding reports, pictures and scientific publications to the site, so stay tuned, visit again to see all the new stuff! If you would like us to send you an email when we have made significant new additions to the site, please fill out the form below. Otherwise please bookmark us and check back from time to time. You may try to contact us but staff is very limited right now and we may not be able to respond.

Thanks,

Marsha Hancock Adams
Director, IEA

Why it is important to investigate Earthlights
1. New way to produce light
2. New way to produce energy
3. New chapter in book of science
4. Understanding geophysics
5. A teaching tool to inspire students to learn science
